⬅︎ Back To Qualifications

OVERVIEW

Overview

Directorship is a skilled, demanding and challenging profession because boards are collectively responsible for the long-term-success of the companies they serve. Globally, increased regulatory and stakeholder group assessments of public and private board performances have strongly influenced individuals who serve as non-executive directors to up-level their knowledge, skills and mind-sets to become more effective leaders. Bermuda, as an international business jurisdiction, is not immune to the increased regulatory scrutiny and the international standards applied to directors who lead registered Bermuda entities.

As a long-established professional awarding body, the IoD is the only institute in the world to offer internationally recognised qualifications designed by directors for directors under Royal Charter. Increasing numbers of influential businesses, institutional shareholders and their advisors have continued to recommend IoD qualifications for executive and non-executive directors.

The IoD Bermuda Branch facilitates the delivery of the internationally respected Chartered Director programme to directors in Bermuda, hosts topical forums and encourages director networking through local events. We create opportunities for directors to maintain high professional standards for the benefit of their companies and the jurisdiction.
